In celebration of Amyloidosis Awareness Month, we share our FACES of Amyloidosis 2020.
Each person in this video is affected by amyloidosis. Each is on their own journey and wants the world to know that this disease isn’t so rare, and as time passes there is more and more hope.
Amyloidosis is a rare and incurable disease, affecting people in different ways. As a result, this often slows the diagnosis time, during which the disease continues to advance. Accurate diagnosis as to the type of amyloidosis is critical, as it directly determines the path of treatment. Timely diagnosis can also impact the trajectory of survival.
Amyloidosis knows no boundaries. Powerful words from two amyloidosis survivors …
Amyloidosis does not discriminate. It will take the young, the old, male, female and all races and socioeconomic levels. — Jill J.
Amyloidosis is a master of disguises. — Robin H.
A huge thank you to those that participated, for they are the true warriors.
The focus to find answers, improved treatments, and a cure is stronger than ever, and the initiatives to raise awareness are better than ever.
We will never give up.
A special thank you to Andra Day. Her song “Rise Up” and amazing voice brought these FACES to life.
This is so beautiful. Thank you!!
Great job McKenzie for your work on making awareness of this disease?
WOW what an amazing video to show such WARRIORS and offer such Important information. Blessings upon All!
Excellent! The brief messages placed between each series of touching photos are very effective in getting the message out under maximum focus.
Thank you so much for putting this out there. I enjoyed last years a great deal and glad to be a part of it this year. Does my heart good to see warriors on the other side of treatment and looking so happy and healthy. Every day is truly a gift, that’s why its called “the present”. Stay strong.
This is a dandy ride!
Absolutely fabulous. I have ThrAla60 myself and awaiting gene silencing treatment. I am from Derry in the North of Ireland. This disease caused the premature deaths of my father, aunt and cousin. I am truly grateful for the progress that has been made. Thank you for your hard work and to all who contributed.

This is absolutely beautiful. My dad was and still is my hero. He lost his battle in 2016. My Amy journey began the same year. To my warriors, keep on pushing!
In honor of my dearest friend Amy, who has put up a great fight against this rare disease, that took her beloved brother Dan.
All my prayers, thoughts and best wishes for a recovery from this disease.
We will find a cure…. know you are loved, and always in our prayers.

Can’t love this enough. And the music was very moving as well. Want to wish all my fellow Amyloidosis Warriors the best. Prayers to improve treatment even more & prayers for a cure. For now the goal is spreading awareness so that people can be diagnosed early enough to have a fighting chance. Great job by Mackenzie’s Mission.
Fight On!
